James O’Keefe’s Lawsuit

Posted by admin | October 21st, 2013

James O’Keefe is a fairly well known political activist in the United States, working on conservative films mostly. He has recently filed a lawsuit against an organization alleging online defamation or libel.¬† The real crux of the matter is that they accused James O’Keefe of bugging the phones of a United States Senator, which he did not do.

Guerrilla journalist James O’Keefe, whose undercover projects have targeted Planned Parenthood and ACORN, has filed a lawsuit against Main Justice, charging that the organization maliciously published false statements about him.
James O’Keefe did give the organization a chance to print a retraction of sorts, but they refused, which is why he has taken legal action. He even gave to them an affidavit from the East Louisiana Court District which said in no uncertain terms that what took place was not a bugging, tampering, or any other felony. The lesson from this story: If you are faced with proof that your claim is untrue–change it and apologize.
